many of the country facing frigid temperatures. mike to be inch is out braving the cold for us in chicago. i guess the firefighters are as well, right, mike? >> reporter: they certainly are. there is this remarkable choir in chicago that has turned into an ice castle because of all the water that the fire fighters have sprayed on this giant warehouse that burst into flames. the bad news is that fire won't go out. it rekindled overnight. the firefighters had to get out in the bitter cold of this morning and continue to spray water despite all the ice that accumulates on their ladder trucks and things of that nature. they brought out something now called a deluge pump so they can dump even more water on top of it and that's creating its own problem. this is an old warehouse, the ice is heavy, there is risk of the collapse of that structure. the good news is with five alarm fires you won't necessarily have guys inside. it is dangerous and it's throwing a lot of resources for the chicago firefighters, jon. jon: the rest of the country, how is everybody doing? >> reporter: it is so

sit home and get get debt. they have become lazy. host: my on our republicans line. -- mike on our republican line. caller: i want to comment on the prescription pills on our state. we have an epidemic in our state where you cannot even leave your home to go to the store. if you leave your house in a war area -- in a rural area, you could go away for two weeks. now when you leave your home people will draw your home, anything you haven't. when they do catch these guys for breaking and entering, cable just get a slap on hand a few times and put them back on the street. you have the same problem again. the gun issue is if you do not have any weapons in your home, these people will come in with shotguns. then you have to defend yourself. if you do not have any firearms in your home. these people are animals, they did not care what they do the people. it is unreal. it is like a little epidemic going on. it undermines the young people in our states. these people are military age where they go into the military. it's kind of like an attack on our society. it sure does weaken the populati

. republicans in the house trying to force senators to come up with a spending plan will go without pay. mike emanuel is live on capitol hill with more. when we take up the debt ceiling deal? reporter: the senate is likely to take up the bill some time next week. they are required to pass a budget by april 15. bottom line, fiscal conservative senators are loving it. >> they have really written some good budgets, tough budget that they have defended, but the democratic senate has just a few. they say send more money. they need the american people to send more money. we don't need a budget to tell you where the money is going to be. so i think that they understand. >> some are complaining that the senate democrats refused to do about it for three years in a row. finally, now that the house has passed the measure and we start to hear the senate democrats saying that they are going to do a budget. jon: is part of that deal, they are required to pass it by april 15, or else no budget and no pay. they will ultimately get paid down the road, but for those who are not part of the millionaires club, n
